Paintballing

Paintballing is a past time that involves shooting small pellets of paint (paintballs) out of a gas powered gun at other people. The game is usually played in teams, one against the other. Protection is worn including goggles and protective clothing, either military gear or overalls. The game is mostly played in fields or other specialist areas, such as disused warehouses, that are usually re-designed specifically for the task. There are both indoor and outdoor arenas, some mimicking real life situations.

The paint balls themselves can be quite painful put will only leave a small bruise at the most. It is a really fun game to play and there are a number of specialist centres around the country that can provide you with everything that you need from protective clothing to ammo and gas guns.

Paintballing is a good way to let off steam and excess energy as well as being mentally taxing and rewarding. It is sometimes used as a team building exercise for corporations as it promotes communication and a sense of comradery between combatants. One of my favourite aspects of this popular sport is being able to shoot people in a safe environment; it’s definitely more than one step up form grand theft auto or any other computer game!
